Jupiter follows success of Alto Flute with New Bass Flute model and a little help from Mark Thomas Following the success of their highly acclaimed 500 Series Alto Flutes, Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc. proudly introduces the all-new 523S Bass Flute. Originally sneak-previewed in an NFA 2002 Showcase presented by NFA Founder, Mark Thomas, the 523S has since evolved into a full production instrument for Jupiter. With its official debut at the 2003 Winter NAMM show, the Jupiter Bass Flute boasts many desirable features, much like its Alto Counterpart. The 523S Bass comes standard with a Silver Plated Headjoint, Body, and Keys and an Adjustable Crutch. Other standard features include, In Line G, Adjustment Screws and French Style Keys with Pointed Arms. Designed in conjunction with Mark Thomas himself, the Bass Flute from Jupiter is intended to be available to more members of the flute community, especially students. The idea was to create a Bass Flute that will end up in more hands, says Mike Rosch, Marketing Manager of Educational Services for Jupiter. Many flute students play bass flute for the first time in college. However, with the rise in flute ensemble literature, flute choirs, and ensembles, there became a need for affordable, quality instruments to be made available to High Schools and Middle Schools. The high quality Jupiter 523S Bass Flute is the only flute in its class to retail for less than most Alto Flutes making it highly attainable to most Flutists.
